Aurora House
A restored 1881 homestead on St Helena Ridge, sleeping up to 12.
Perched high above the Byron Bay hinterland and surrounded by 52 private acres, Aurora House is a country estate built for gathering. Originally one of the region’s first homesteads and beautifully restored, it keeps the proportions of a grand old country house while the interiors are unmistakably of today. The views run long over the coast and the hinterland, and the sense of space is rare this close to Byron Bay.
A historic homestead, reimagined
The homestead has been renovated to keep its old-world proportions while adding the comforts of modern living. Generous living and dining areas give everyone room to come together, and large windows pull the landscape back into the house at every turn. The kitchen is the centre of it: slow breakfasts before everyone scatters for the day, long dinners once they are all back. In the cooler months the stone fireplace makes the house just as inviting for a winter stay.
